You are using the same two chords throughout the entire song, and you might want to fix that. Also, its very repetative, which is ok when a song isn't as long as this one. I recomend a couple more chords, a counter melody or two tacked in and a baseline. People never realize this, but a The baseline (bottom note of chord usually) is the most important part of a song because everything elsed is basically overtones of that... and a stonger melody might help too. Most of this is just my opinion, so... yeah.
Ah well if most of this is only an opinion that I guess I don't have to take it completely seriously. You seem to be into music but your profile says otherwise. Then again that isn't to say that you don't play a musical instrument. If you do then you'd have a better understanding of how music works. Tough to say since you profile has no indication of music, yet at the same time you seem to be well musically educated. Music is a personal thing so taking and leaving suggestions can be dangerous. Taking someone's advice can either improve or change the music. And changing someones music can have harmful effects on their musical vision. Anyway thanks for the suggestions. I'll take them into consideration.
I agree. Music is personal, which is why most of that was an opinion. And the reason why I know so much is because I play two brass instruments and have been tought piano stuff here and there since I was littler... and I sing (sub-par voice but getting lessons) I don't mention music on my page because that's not what I'm on DA for, and I have no way of recording stuff anyway. My dad is a composer and teaches me what he can when he can. This link is to a webpage for a musical he did. [link] I base my suggestions on things he told me about my music before (like the whole baseline thing) and things he's said about other musicians' music. Anyway, I wanted you to know my opinion because I believe it could help your music and I understand if you don't agree with me. I'm glad you heard me out, though.
Do you have a musical background? It's very simplistic but you use the effects well to give it a layered and mature sound.
My only negative crit would be that it was quite repetitive and the themes blurred into one. Perhaps consider more prominent themes and melodies to create a bigger feel. (I'm really into Russian composers like Rimsky-korsakov and Borrodin-i think hes russion >.<- so im into big sounds)
However this music is well suited for soundtrack lying in the background or a scene or character. since your an animator im guessing thats what you had in mind.
